It has been posted by us couple of times before that Windows 8 would contain an App store, today in a blog post on Building Windows 8, Microsoft has confirmed that next generation windows would have an app store. This App store would likely allow users to download programs without having to search for them on a website.
Steven Sinofsky further mentioned in the blog post that currently around 35 different team are working on Windows 8 with each team having around 25-40 develop along with testers and other guys. Here is what he posted-
We organize the work of Windows into “feature teams,” groups of developers who own a combination of architectural elements and scenarios across Windows. We have about 35 feature teams in the Windows 8 organization. Each feature team has anywhere from 25-40 developers, plus test and program management, all working together. Our teams are all focused on building a global product, and so some of our teams are located outside the US and are also delivering globally.
Sinofsky has also published the name of some of the teams which are currently working on Windows 8-
